Design
If you've kept your eyes open at the gym or on the bus or train, you are likely familiar with the predecessor to the IE2, the aforementioned In-Ear headphones, which were originally called Tri-Ports. Both models flaunt a signature black-and-white, intertwined audio cable. The earpieces for the IE2 are oddly shaped. Underneath the StayHear eartips (Bose's new style of covers for the earphone, of which you get pairs in varying sizes), the IE2 resembles a hybrid earbud/earphone.

QNAP have announced their latest network-attached storage device, the four-bay SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS. Capable of establishing various levels of RAID array for up to 2TB of total capacity, the SS-439 is based on Intel’s Atom N270 processor and offers media server, backup, print and web server functionality. Connectivity includes three USB 2.0 ports and two eSATA ports, which can be used to add more storage plus make removable backups, together with two gigabit ethernet connections.
Unlike the Acer Aspire easyStore AH340-UA230N also announced today, the SNAP NAS does not run Windows Home Server. That doesn’t leave it short on functionality, though; as well as RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5 + hot spare, single, JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration setups, it offers AES 256-bit encryption, remote access and more.
The twin ethernet ports can either offer failover provision in case one connection fails, be used with load balancing to increase overall throughput, or even have independent IPs to allow the NAS to be access from two different workgroups. Scientists at the University of Warwick have developed a technique that will recycle all plastics including polystyrene. In many municipalities people sort their garbage into recyclable and non recyclable types of plastic. Once Warwick’s new method becomes implemented world wide, that sorting can cease.
The technique used is called “pyrolysis (using heat in the absence of oxygen to decompose of[sic] materials)”. The scientists created a unit that “used pyrolysis…in a ‘fluidized bed’ reactor”. Mixed plastics of all types were tossed into the reactor and many were reduced down to building blocks that could be recycled into new materials.

Nokia will ship its first MeeGo-based device in 2011, the company announced yesterday, betting on the Linux platform's ability to compete against high-end rivals such as the Apple iOS and Google Android.
No details were given, but in June a company spokesman said it was ditching Symbian for MeeGo on its next N-series smartphone, the N9.
The open-source MeeGo OS combines Nokia's Linux Maemo software with Intel's Linux Moblin platform. It was first announced at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Intel said in May that a MeeGo-based device would be ready by Christmas 2010, but has apparently been pushed back. Perhaps delaying the roll out was the departure of Ari Jaaksi, former head of Nokia's MeeGo unit, who left Nokia earlier this month for Hewlett-Packard.
